A Key Performance Indicator Board measures how an area, work cell or plant is performing. The most common Lean measurables are:

• Lead time (customer order to delivery)

• Good parts per labor hour
  

• Scrap and re-work (internal and external ppm)
  

• Downtime
  

• Changeover or setup time
  

• Equipment Downtime
  

• No material, etc.
  

• Safety
  

• On time deliveries/schedules attainment
  
  

These measurables are used to select the area of greatest opportunity to improve. Then assign a problem solving team to find the root cause and implement permanent counter measures.
